How can I use my own domain or subdomain?

Learn how to run Fangage on your own custom (sub)domain!

You will need to contact us for this as this currently requires manual action.

Follow the following steps to link your own (sub)domain name to your website. Please choose if you want to link a full domain or only a subdomain.

For full domain names, follow these steps:

  • Let us know which domain name you want to use via chat or email at support@fangage.com. If you haven't registered your domain name yet, be sure to do that through a recommended registrar.

  • We'll configure that the domain name can be connected to your website and send you a confirmation of that.

  • When you receive the confirmation, go to the DNS settings of your domain name and add an A-record named '@' with the value that we're going to provide you.

  • In addition, add an A-record named "www" with the same value.
  • Let us know via chat or email that you've added the A-records so we can activate the domain name.

  • After we've activated the domain name, you can see an SSL warning that will automatically be resolved in 1 or 2 hours.

  • Everything is done, you can start promoting your website!

For subdomains, follow these steps:

  • Let us know which subdomain you want to use via chat or contact us at support@fangage.com. If you haven't registered your domain name yet, be sure to do that through a recommended registrar (such as Google Domains).

  • We'll configure the subdomain to be connected to your website and send you a confirmation of that.

  • When you receive the confirmation, go to the DNS settings of your domain name and add a A record with the name of your subdomain (for example: 'fans' if you want to use fans.yourdomain.com), with the value that we are going to provide you.

  • After we've activated the subdomain, you can see an SSL warning that will automatically be fixed in 1 or 2 hours.

  • Everything is done, you can start promoting your website!

Words of wisdom:

  • If you have a site already, you can run Fangage on a subdomain. Make sure to add a button on your main site to redirect to your Fangage page.
