Guest content vs Locked content

In order to start offering (exclusive) content on your Fangage website, you will need to set up what we call "content items".
Simply put, a content item represents any type of content such as a live stream, a giveaway, music, and more. Check out our content idea list to read more about the different types of content you can offer on your Fangage website.

Depending on what you're trying to offer, you can choose your content item to be visible to everyone visiting your website (even when they are not signed up). If this is what you want, simply mark it as a "guest item".

In order to get the most out of Fangage, you can also offer "locked" content items. These content items can only be accessed if fans sign up on your Fangage platform and complete a certain percentage of their profile. This percentage is referred to as "fan score".

Profile completion percentages

Each content group (or separate content item) has a fan score assigned to it. This fan score indicates how "complete" a user's profile should be in order to be able to unlock and access the content item. Users can increase their fan score by completing their profile, such as indicating their birth date.

You can easily choose the fan score needed to unlock a content item.
As an example, if you want every user who has completed 20% of their profile to be able to access a content item, you can assign that fan score to the content item.

Generally, it is advised to assign your most exclusive content a high fan score so you gather as much data from your fans as possible.

You can also customize the percentage amount by which a user's profile completion increases on your admin page. Learn more about it here.
